Artist
Andrzej Wiktor was born in Stalowa Wola in 1973. A graduate of the Łódź Film School, he is a photographer, photojournalist and graphic artist with twenty-five years of professional experience.
Wiktor began his career in press photography and worked as a reporter in countries including Chechnya, Israel, Iraq and Russia. He photographed for Polska The Times and worked as a photojournalist for the Polish Press Agency and Rzeczpospolita. He has been a member of the Association of Polish Journalists since 2003 and was a member of the Association of Polish Art Photographers from 2010 to 2024.
In 2015, he expanded his practice into graphic art, developing works through heliogravure and gum-oil printing. By combining hybrid photography with the material and visual qualities of these specialized processes, he creates images that move beyond documentary representation and occupy a distinctive place within contemporary fine art photography.
Alongside his independent artistic practice, Wiktor continues to undertake commissioned and documentary projects. His work has been presented in Poland, Italy, the United Kingdom and the United States and has received numerous awards in photography and photojournalism.
