Aleksandra Prusinowska

Born in 1986 in Gdynia, Aleksandra Prusinowska graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk. She received her doctorate in 2018 and currently heads the Department of Artistic Printmaking at her alma mater.

Her practice spans painting, artistic printmaking and ceramics. She frequently draws on the visual language of popular culture, referring to film, advertising, press photography and comics.

Prusinowska has received numerous scholarships, including awards from the Polish Minister of Culture and National Heritage, the Marshal of the Pomeranian Voivodeship and the City of Gdynia. She is the recipient of multiple prizes and distinctions.

Her work has been presented in more than a dozen solo exhibitions and nearly one hundred group exhibitions. It is represented in institutional collections in Poland as well as private collections in Poland and abroad.
