Adam Bakalarz

Adam Bakalarz is a graduate of Graphic Arts at the Faculty of Art of the Pedagogical University in Kraków. The human figure is the central motif of his practice: transformed, technically synthesized and suspended between organic anatomy and architectural, sculptural form.

His works combine the vitality of bodily shapes with carefully constructed geometries, giving intimate gestures and everyday actions a distinct emotional charge. Figures frequently appear in close relation to fauna and flora. Their connection is intensified by flat, monochromatic fields and subtly outlined cubic interiors that remove the scene from ordinary narrative space.

As Bogusław Deptuła succinctly observed, “He paints by sculpting and sculpts by painting.” This movement between disciplines is fundamental to Bakalarz’s visual language, in which surface, structure and volume remain inseparable.

His works are held in numerous private collections in Poland and internationally.
